Why is the red standby light flashing on my tv panasonic. I turned it off, removed all cables and plugged it out. Then press and hold (or turn on ) the tv's power button (or switch) for 30 seconds and release. No sound comes out either.

If possible, counting the number of flashes will assist the repair centre. Reconnect the power cord to the power outlet and switch on the outlet. It won't respond to the tv remote.

There is no clock time displayed when the unit is in standby. The green standby light then turns red, flashing 7 times intermittently with a 2 second break before repeating the process over and over again. My panasonic tv won't come on and has a blinking red light to the right of the power button.

What does it mean when the red standby light on my tv is flashing? Please check 'timer programming' in the setup menu. The power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on.

Turn off the tv and then turn off and disconnect the tv power cord from the power outlet. The power led indicator should illuminate as a solid red color. 1) please remove the batteries from the remote control or take any remotes you have into another room or place in a draw.

'u88' is displayed and the disc cannot be ejected. What does it mean when the red standby light on my tv is flashing? There is no picture on screen.

After the red standby light comes on the buttons on the side of the tv don't do anything, including the power button. The standby light on a sony television indicates when the television is turned on and operating, or turned off and in standby mode. The prime reason that the red light is blinking ten times on your panasonic tv is the voltage issue on the dtv, sub 5v, and main 3.3v.

If it is blinking very quickly, the connected electric device is drawing too much current or wattage. It turned back on, and about an hour later the exact same thing happened, i followed the same steps although now it happens every few. What does a blinking red light mean on a panasonic flat screen?

If you unplug for a minute and hit the power button, it sounds like it is coming on then it shuts off and the red power light flashes slowly. Unfortunately, there is a fault with the tv and you will have to refer it to a service centre for repair. 2) once this has been done, can you turn the tv on from the buttons located on the side of the unit, by using the up or ‘+’ button?

My new tv keeps turning itself off after two hours of it being on. In this case, confirm all connections, including those of the hub. Turn on the tv and check if it starts ok.

Last edited by a moderator: Why is the red light blinking on my panasonic tv turn off the tv and then turn off and disconnect the tv power cord from the power outlet. In addition, the issue can occur due to the tuner power issues as well.

The flash sequence is very distinct; Is there any way in which i can turn it off? Very rarely when switched to standby the led changes from yellow to red for a short period and a relay type click can be heard when this happens and then.

My panasonic tv turned off a couple of hours ago and the light on it started flashing red (over 25 times). Is the light supposed to be on in the microwave? An epg timer recording has been set on the television.

The smart plugs led indicator will blink quickly in red if it is out of range of the hub. What does it mean when the red standby light on my tv is flashing? First try a power reset.

My panasonic viera plasma tv won't turn on. Then press and hold (or turn on ) the tv's power button (or switch) for 30 seconds and release. The tv when switched on, goes into standby, flashing away as normal suggesting it is going to burst into life, then nothing.

For example a three flash sequence would appear. The unit is on but cannot be operated. Why is the red light flashing on my panasonic tv turn off the tv and then turn off and disconnect the tv power cord from the power outlet.

Then press and hold (or turn on ) the tv's power button (or switch) for 30 seconds and release.

Light sony stereo flashing standby

Why is a red light flashing?

I know that this is a late posting, but some explanation is required.

The red blinking in general is an indication of “protect” mode. This is a case where a problem has been detected and the unit shuts down to prevent further damage to either the receiver or the speakers. As indicated in the posting above, this can happen for a several reasons.

1) Heat - When the receiver works too hard and generated too much heat, it will shutdown the speakers until the temp reduces to a safe level. Once cooled, the receiver will function again as expected. Excessive volume for an extended period of time can trigger this. This is what was reported in the original question.

2) Failure of the Amp section - In this case, the unit will show the protection stage immediately upon turning on. This is the shorter interval flashing. In most cases, the output transistors have failed (at least one). When this happens there is DC voltage present on the speaker line which will cause the speaker voice coil to heat up like a light bulb. This is not good for the speaker and will cause it to fail. To prevent this, the Amp will detect this DC voltage and shutdown the output.

3) The speakers have failed creating short circuit on the outputs - In this case either the speaker wires have crossed or the speakers have failed. Since the Amp is expecting a particular “load” for the speakers, a short circuit will create too much of a load and the Amp will work too hard drawing too much current. This too is detected and will cause a shutdown.

These are the main causes of protect mode.

Hope this helps,

Dan

Troubleshooting

Make sure the power cord and speaker
cords are correctly and firmly connected.

Find your problem in the checklist below,
and take the indicated corrective action.

If the issue persists, contact your nearest
Sony dealer.

If the STANDBY indicator flashes

Immediately unplug the power cord, and
check the following item.
•  If your system has a voltage selector, is the

voltage selector set to the correct voltage?

•  Are the + and – speaker cords short-

circuited?

•  Are you using only the supplied speakers?
•  Is anything blocking the ventilation holes

on the back of the system?

After the STANDBY indicator

 stops

flashing, reconnect the power cord, and turn
on the system. If the issue persists, contact
your nearest Sony dealer.

General

The display starts flashing as soon as

you plug in the power cord even though

you have not turned on the system.
• Press DISPLAY

 twice while the system is

off. The demonstration disappears.

Sound comes from one channel, or the

left and right volumes are unbalanced.
•  Place the speakers as symmetrically as

possible.

•  Connect only the supplied speakers.

Sound lacks bass.
•  Check that the striped (or solid) cord is

connected to the speaker’s – (or +) jack
correctly.

Severe hum or noise.
•  Move the system away from sources of

noise.

•  Connect the system to a different wall

socket.

•  Install a noise filter (available separately) to

the power cord.

The remote does not function.
•  Remove any obstacles between the remote

and the remote sensor

 on the unit, and

position the unit away from fluorescent
lights.

•  Point the remote at the system’s sensor.
•  Move the remote closer to the system.

CD/MP3 player

The sound skips, or the disc will not

play.
•  Wipe the disc clean, and replace it.
•  Move the system to a location away from

vibration (for example, on top of a stable
stand).

•  Move the speakers away from the system,

or place them on separate stands. At high
volume, speaker vibration may cause the
sound to skip.

Play does not start from the first track.
•  Press PLAY MODE

 repeatedly until both

“PGM” and “SHUF” disappear to return to
normal play.

Starting playback takes more time than

usual.
•  The following discs take a longer time to

start playback.

– a disc recorded with a complicated tree structure.
– a disc recorded in multisession mode.
– a disc that has not been finalized (a disc to which

data can be added).

– a disc that has many folders.

Tuner

Severe hum or noise, or stations cannot

be received. (“TUNED” or “STEREO”

flashes on the display.)
•  Connect the antenna properly.
•  Find a location and an orientation that

provide good reception, and then set up the
antenna again.

•  Connect a commercially available external

antenna.

•  Turn off nearby electrical equipment.
