Minecraft Keeps Crashing Error Fix 2021

Sometimes playing Minecraft doesn’t go the way you want to. The game will either crash or not even start. In such cases, this guide will help you solve the issues of Minecraft Crashing.

How to Fix Minecraft Crashes

what to do minecraft keeps crashing

There are multiple reasons for Minecraft to crash. It could be your Internet Connection, Server-side Error, system failure, and such. Below I have listed the ways you can fix this issue.

  • First of is the easiest one is to either restart your game or restart your system. It’s the oldest trick in the book but is usually the most effective one.
  • Another way could be is to check if your drivers are up to date. Minecraft requires a bit of graphic processing so keeping a check on your GPU will come in handy.
  • If the game is still crashing them check your Internet Connection. Due to poor network games like Minecraft won’t work and will keep crashing.
  • Another way you can fix it is by clearing some cache data from your system. Also in your game files under Appdata->Roaming->.minecraft, there will be two folders, webcache and webcache2, delete them. You will be able to see these folders only after you enable hidden files in your File Explorer. After that go to the Minecraft Launcher and go to its properties. There will be a Compatibility tab and under it, there will be an option as Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select the latest version. Then just restart your system and it should work.
  • Mods can also be the reason why Minecraft keeps crashing. The version mismatch of mods and the server could cause the crashes. Make sure both are up to date or at least are on the same versions.
  • If all hope is lost then you will have to wait until the server is functioning again or the Admins have fixed the server. This could also be a major issue where the Devs might have to patch up. So sit tight and wait.

These are the things you can try if Minecraft keeps crashing. Hopefully, this guide has helped you in fixing the issues. You can also check out our guides on a Can’t Connect to Minecraft Server and Breeding Cats in Minecraft.

Minecraft Freezing On PS4 – How To Fix It

Minecraft is a fun game, but sometimes it can be frustrating when the game freezes and you are stuck on your screen. If this happens to you, there are a few things that you should do before giving up completely. The first thing to try is turning off your PS4 for 15 minutes or so and powering back on again. Sometimes just waiting for the system to cool down will solve the problem!

Minecraft game

We have published a comprehensive guide on fixing a frozen PS4 with many useful tips that help you work around this issue. Check our PS4 Freeze Resolution Guide.

Causes of Minecraft Freezing On PS4

Minecraft game may freeze on PS4 because of the unsuccessful game/update installation. This causes compatibility issues with the PS4 operating essential files to the extent that the whole system will crash at a point.

If you are using a power source other than the original Sony PlayStation 4 AC adapter, this can also cause your Minecraft game to freeze on PS4.

A third-party USB cable can also trigger that problem.

Furthermore, if there is not enough space on your hard disk for the game cache file, or the PS4 internal hard drive undergoes some sort of failure, it may also lead to Minecraft freezing on PS4.

Fixing Minecraft Freezing On PS4

So, how to fix it when Minecraft game freezes on PS4? Well, there’s no specific fix that works for everyone. Each case must be investigated separately in order to figure out what causes the problem in the first place. Once this is done, the fix is determined accordingly.

For example, if what causes the Minecraft freeze on PS4 is a malfunctioning hard drive, the solution is to repair that hard drive or just replace it.

If it is a power issue, you need to find out where the problem exactly stems from. Is it the power cord, power strip, power outlet or even the PS4 power supply?

On the other hand, if it’s just system file conflict or corruption, you can simply initialize the PS4 and reinstall the game, and things will go smooth like before.

For more details on PS4 freeze and how to fix it, please check out this article.

Conclusion

Minecraft is a great game and it might crash or freeze on PS4. If a simple restart won’t fix this issue, you might need to initialize the PS4 before suspecting any hardware component of your PS4 game console.

Every time I try to apply Pure BD Craft to my Minecraft game (PS4) it crashes (goes to a black screen) and eventually gives me a "an error has occurred". It worked fine prior to the update but now it's not working after the new one. Does anyone know why or how to help? Thank you.

The latest update of Minecraft Bedrock has caused quite a few issues for some reason.

Currently we suggest trying to turn the resolution of the textures used by following the steps in our Troubleshooting Guide: help-centre-f4/bedrock-troubleshooting- ... t6976.html

Realms users may struggle to get the settings to stick for some reason.

This issue is entirely on Mojang's side. There's no update or magic we can do to fix the issue.

I've submitted this particular issue as a bug over at Mojang yesterday and finally figured out it was PureBDcraft after some troubleshooting.

Hey, I installed a BD texture pack recently pn my xbox one and I went onto the game. On my usual survival world, I activated the texture packs and the UI texture pack and went to load onto the world.

After a few hints on the loading screen, the screen goes black and then kicks me out onto the home screen.

I’m not recieving any error messages, it just closes on me.

Can someone help me out?

So it looks like with this update Minecraft is now trying to load purebdcraft at 256x resolution which will cause ps4 and xbox one to crash.

Setting resolution down to 128x or lower will allow you to load into a world. Curiously though there is no longer a warning message and limiter stopping you from setting it at 256x like in previous releases.

I have tried the above 'fix method' on a xbox one and have tried 64x, 128x and 256x. Every single option I have selected crashes the game to the xbox home Menu. I've tried doing this on both worlds on realms and worlds stored offline and it seems to crash every time no matter what texture resolution I have it set to. I have also tried reinstalling the game and the texture pack and unfortunately getting the same result. By the looks of things, this pack needs to be updated as its not compatible with the latest version of minecraft.

It's a confirmed bug by Mojang with the latest update that they have said will be fixed whenever the next update of the game is out.

As far as packs go there's nothing to update, and no fix we could really apply anyway as the game seems to be ignoring memory limits currently and selecting resolutions that just will not work with the whatever system people are playing on.

If you crash on every resolution setting that's very peculiar, but the documented fix (linked earlier in the thread) has worked for everyone else so far.
